From 20 – 30 of September 2018, Mu Cang Chai district will hold the Mu Cang Chai terraced festival with many interesting content. This event is meaningful activity responding to the 60th anniversary of Uncle Ho's visit to Yen Bai (25/9/1958 - 25/9/2018), World Tourism Day (27/9) and 61st anniversary of Mu Cang Chai District (18/10/1957 - 18/10/2018).
The opening of Mu Cang Chai terraced festival 2018 will be held on September 22 in Mu Cang Chai stadium with the topic “Mu Cang Chai – Character and Modernity”.
Parade Festival "Fly on the Golden Season" will be held on September 22, The Khen Festival of H’mong People will be held on September 21; Goat fightting on September 23; "Quickly rice cutting" on 25/9 and highland market will be held from September 20 to September 30.
The festival also includes commune tourism activities in some communes Che Cu Nha, La Pan Tan, Nam Khat and Mu Cang Chai town with many activities. Tourists can experience cultural values with the Thai, Mong ethnic groups in the tourist spots on terraced fields; Tourists can also enjoy many activities with people here such as: cutting rice, weaving fabric…; guiding tourists visit landscapes on terraces and Mu Cang Chai Ecolodge in Hua Khat village and Nam Khat commune.
Festival of Mu Cang Chai terraced terraces is an annual event that celebrates the National Grass and Grassland cultural values; To raise the sense of conservation and promotion of the value of historical relics in association with the development of tourism, creating a joyful and exciting atmosphere among the Party and people of different ethnic groups in the district. At the same time to promote the introduction of the homeland, people, potential, strength and cultural identity of people of Mu Cang Chai ethnic groups to domestic and foreign tourists.
