On 24th of Nov, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs held an online conference between the delegation of Vietnamese Ambassadors and Consul Generals abroad for the 2021-2024 term and leaders of localities in the North region. Attending the event in Yen Bai province was Ngo Hanh Phuc, Vice-Chairman of provincial People's Committee.

The conference is an opportunity for 21 southern localities to discuss and propose solutions on strengthening foreign economic cooperation, overcoming the consequences of the pandemic and recovering the economy.
The leaders of Northern provinces wanted that the Vietnamese Ambassadors and Consul Generals abroad during their working term will continue supporting these provinces and cities in exchanging and organizing conferences, seminars online or in person, implementing specific activities with foreign partners while paying attention to introducing investors and economic groups from other countries to these provinces and cities for investment.
These province and cities will given priority to attracting investment in high-tech technologies, auxiliary industries and production of new and smart materials, etc, aiming to promote the development of these fields under the 4th industrial revolution and build up smart cities.
Having a speech at the cinema, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affair Ministry Nguyen Quoc Dung suggested that the Ambassadors and Consul Generals pay attention to the recommendations that the representatives of the localities mentioned to have a specific connection and parallel plan. Mr. Dung also suggested localities being more active in promoting and expanding international cooperation, thereby contributing to opening up new cooperation opportunities and facilitating socio-economic development for localities and enhance the position of Vietnam.
