YBP - On January 1, 2022, at Che Cu Nha commune in Mu Cang Chai district, the Provincial People's Committee held a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the road connecting Muong La (Son La province), Than Uyen, Tan Uyen (Lai Chau province), and districts of Mu Cang Chai, Van Chan, Van Yen (Yen Bai province) with Noi Bai - Lao Cai Expressway (IC15). This is a key and practical project to celebrate political events and major holidays in 2022 in Yen Bai province.

The road project connecting Muong La (Son La province), Than Uyen, Tan Uyen (Lai Chau province), and districts of Mu Cang Chai, Van Chan, Van Yen (Yen Bai province) with Noi Bai - Lao Cai Expressway (IC15) has a total cost invested VND1,900 billion. The project is invested by Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board of Yen Bai Province.
Construction investment project with scale of grade IV mountainous road according to Vietnamese standard TCVN 4054 - 2005, has a total length of 69 km. The starting point of the route is at Km0+00 (intersection with National Highway 32 at about Km299+00) in Che Cu Nha commune in Mu Cang Chai district, Yen Bai province. The end point of the route is at Km68+950 (intersection with Gia Hoi - Dong An road at Km15+375) in Phong Du Thuong commune, Van Yen district, Yen Bai province. In phase 1, the construction of the 30km section through Mu Cang Chai district will be implemented, with 3 bidding packages 14, 15 and 16 built by 11 contractors, the remaining 39 km will be deployed in 2022.
The project is constructed by Truong Son General Construction Company; Joint Stock Company Construction Services and Trade 68; Tinh Dao Company Limited; Hiep Phu Company Limited; Yen Bai Traffic Construction Joint Stock Company; Nam Phong Trading and Construction Investment Joint Stock Company and Dong Tien Company Limited. The project is expected to be constructed in 6 years.
The completed work will connect Mu Cang Chai town and Che Cu Nha and Nam Co communes of Mu Cang Chai district, Phong Du Thuong commune of Van Yen district with Noi Bai - Lao Cai Expressway, breaking the monorail from the provincial center to Mu Cang Chai district via National Highway 32, meeting the long-standing aspirations of the highland people here; opening up new opportunities for ethnic minorities and mountainous areas to promote economic development, ensure social security; rapid and sustainable poverty reduction. At the same time, creating conditions for the development of community-based tourism, serving search and rescue, ensuring national defense and security of the region, and promoting rapid and sustainable socio-economic development.
