The project of the road connecting National Highway 32 with Noi Bai - Lao Cai expressway (IC15) was approved by the Chairman of the People's Committee of Yen Bai province in Decision No.3447 on December 31, 2020 with a total investment of VND 420 billion. The project is invested by the Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board.
The construction investment project has a scale of grade IV mountainous road according to Vietnam Standard TCVN 4054 - 2005 with a total length of 43.5km connecting the western districts with eastern districts of the province. The project has the starting point at the intersection with National Highway 32 at Km227+100m in Gia Hoi commune, Van Chan district and the end point at the intersection with pProvincial road 166 at Km50+200m in Dong An commune of Van Yen district. The project is expected to be completed by November 2023.
When the road project connecting National Highway 32 with Noi Bai - Lao Cai expressway (IC15) is completed, it will create conditions to promote the potential development of tourism in the western region of Yen Bai province, contributing to the conservation and promote the potential, strengths of the Que region, Van Yen district; opening up new opportunities for ethnic minority areas and mountainous areas in the implementation of planning, arrangement, and stable population arrangement in association with promoting economic development and ensuring social security, rapid and sustainable poverty reduction of ethnic minorities in Gia Hoi commune of Van Chan district and communes: Dong An, Xuan Tam, Phong Du Ha, Phong Du Thuong of Van Yen district in the coming years.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen The Phuoc - Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized: The project constructed is an event, an important milestone to open up new opportunities for the connection among regions in the province and between Yen Bai province and other provinces, creating a new motivation and a new atmosphere for the rapid and sustainable development in the direction of "green, harmony, identity and happiness" of Yen Bai province in the coming years and subsequent periods.
