YBP - On the afternoon of March 12, Mr. Tran Huy Tuan - Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee had a working session with the delegation of the Global Association of Vietnamese Scientists and Experts led by Mr. Nguyen Duc Khuong - The President of the Global Association of Vietnamese Scientists and Experts on the implementation of the Mutual Development Program in Yen Bai province.
Overview of the working session
The Mutual Development Program is a non-profit program, aiming to be a key and strategic program of Yen Bai province associated with the implementation of the National Target Programs including sustainable poverty reduction, social -economic development in ethnic minorities and mountainous areas in the period of 2021-2025. The objects of the Program are households with difficult circumstances but have potentials to develop agriculture associated with services, with priority given to women and young people. The subjects in the program will be provided a certain amount of capital along with instruction in skills and ways to develop production and business.
At the working session, the Global Association of Vietnamese Scientists and Experts reported a field trip to Mu Cang Chai district, Yen Bai province; mentioned some difficulties in the implementation process. In order to implement steady production step by step, in 2022, the Association proposes to implement 5 contents, including: deploying the 5,000 m2 model of producing specialty rice varieties of Sheng Cu or Nep Tan selected by the locality; deploying a model of 500 m2 of tea using microbial products and cultivating according to technical processes in the tea area of Pung Luong District Agricultural Service Cooperative; implementing the content of disease prevention and treatment for specialty black chicken breeds in La Pan Tan commune; implementing a model of organic fertilizer application and technical impact for a model of 1,000 m2 of specialty pear trees in Nam Khat commune and implementing a model of 2,000 m2 of green vegetables on a 1-crop field.
Speaking at the working session, Mr. Tran Huy Tuan - Chairman of the People's Committee of Yen Bai province highly appreciated the activities of the Global Association of Vietnamese Scientists and Experts in Yen Bai in recent years. He suggested, in the coming time, the delegation needs to have specific activities to encourage people to actively participate in the Programs, especially the development of tea plants; It is necessary to develop development strategies in phases for each model based on the scale and planning of the province.
