Currently, in the province, there are about 90 import-export enterprises which directly export to about 50 traditional markets and more than 30 other markets. In the first 6 months of the year, export turnover was estimated at USD151.69 million, equaling 88% of the plan, up 4% over the same period. The group of processed agricultural and forestry products increased by 31% over the same period. Many commodity groups decreased such as: industrial and mineral processing; garment product group; group of plastic resin products. The trend of export products move from raw products to deeply processed products.

Currently, the province has 07 enterprises exporting to the CPTPP (Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership) market, the export value in 2022 reached USD 7 million, including export items: sawn stone, wooden chopsticks, bamboo shoots; 03 enterprises exporting to the EVFTA (Vietnam - EU Free Trade Agreement) market, the export value in 2022 reached about USD 2 million.

At the conference, representatives of enterprises reflected on the current situation of production, business and export in the first months of 2023, the causes, assessment of the situation in the coming time and proposed solutions and directions to remove difficulties and obstacles.

Representatives of relevant units under the Ministry of Industry and Trade and provincial departments and branches answered a number of problems, suggestions and proposals of industry associations and business community; informed about the negotiation situation of Free Trade Agreements (FTA) in Vietnam, opportunities for Yen Bai province as well as recommendations on solutions to make effective use of the FTA.
