In recent years, in addition to improving the quality of teaching and learning, the Education and Training Sector of Van Chan District has identified preserving, conserving and promoting ethnic cultural identity as an important task. After 3 years of implementation, 100% of schools in the district have implemented the task to conserve and preserve ethnic cultural identity.

To gain consensus from parents on conserving, preserving and promoting the values of traditional culture in schools, the school Board of Thượng Bằng La Kindergarten held a parent meeting and asked for opinions on implementation and received agreement and consensus from parents. Therefore, every Friday, teachers and students would join in traditional Dậm Thuông dances together. These activities help children love the cultural traditions more, and preserve, conserve and promote their own ethnic culture.

Suối Giàng Primary and Secondary School has over 98% of students who are Mong people. In addition to improving education quality, the school pays special attention to conserving, preserving and promoting Mong cultural identity. The school has directed teachers to collect, decorate classrooms and display Mong costumes, Khen musical instruments... to help children feel connected to their identity. To preserve the cultural identity of local ethnic people, the Principal Board arranges for students to wear Mong costumes and organize Khen dancing twice a week. Traditional games like stick pushing, bow shooting and pao throwing are also arranged during PE classes and extracurricular time. These activities are considered indispensable in Mong people's lives.

Recognizing that preserving, conserving and promoting ethnic cultural identity is an important task, in recent years, the District Education and Training Department has directed schools to develop plans and implement the work of preserving and promoting traditional cultures of ethnic groups associated with each ethnic group and locality. After 3 years of implementation, 100% of schools have implement work to conserve cultural identity with many models deployed related to local ethnic groups.

Preserving, conserving and promoting ethnic cultural identity, in connection with building happy schools, has contributed to improving the district's comprehensive education in Văn Chấn over the past years.
