The working delegation of the Vietnam - Korea Businessmen and Investment Association (VKBIA) led by Mr. Tran Huy Tuan, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, paid a working visit to Jeollanam-do province to implement cooperation program between localities of Vietnam and the Republic of Korea (RoK) on June 14-16.
Working in Jindo Island district, Chairman of the Yen Bai Provincial People's Committee Tran Huy Tuan quickly informed Mayor Kim Hee Soo about the potential and strengths of Yen Bai and the situation of sending the province's workers to work abroad and working in RoK.
For his part, Mayor Kim Hee Soo quickly shared some information about Jindo Island district and discussed cooperation in bringing workers from Yen Bai province to work in the island district.
In Naju city, Mr. Tuan also informed Mayor Yoon Byung-tae about the province's socio-economic development situation in 2023 and the first six months of 2024; the international cooperation situation of the province and the province's cooperation relationship with Korean partners as well.
The Chairman of the Yen Bai Provincial People's Committee and Mayor of Naju City signed a cooperation agreement on establishing local-level cooperation. The main content of the agreement is to strengthen and expand cooperation to bring common benefits to both sides; exchange information and experiences to cooperate effectively in the fields of green energy, high technology, agricultural labor, education, international students, skilled and high-tech labor, human resource training and commercial investment coordination.
Dongsin University and the VKBIA also participated in the agreement signing and are the focal points to directly support cooperative activities between the two localities.
In Mokpo city, Chairman Tuan presented the potentials, strengths and socio-economic development situation of Yen Bai province in recent times. He expressed his hope that through the working visit, the two localities will develop cooperative relations in many fields, especially industry, culture, tourism, sustainable development and environmental protection.
The delegation of Yen Bai province and VKBIA visited and worked at Deabul National Industrial Complex in Mokpo city; attended the opening ceremony of the Jeollanam-do - Vietnam Cooperation Support Center, which aims to strengthen cooperation and exchange between Jeollanam-do and localities of Vietnam.
At the opening ceremony, Dr. Tran Hai Linh emphasized that Naju city in particular, localities in Jeollanam-do province and Yen Bai province share many similar characteristics, so it is necessary to promote local cooperation to contribute to the common development between Vietnam and RoK in the coming time. VKBIA and Dongshin University are ready to be a bridge for effective cooperation, he affirmed./.
