On December 17, 2024, the Provincial Museum, in collaboration with the Yen Bai Provincial Archives Center, solemnly inaugurated the thematic exhibition titled “Heroic Army - Glorious Tradition”. This exhibition commemorates the 80th anniversary of the Vietnam People's Army's founding (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2024) and the 35th anniversary of the National Defense Day (December 22, 1989 - December 22, 2024) at the Yen Bai Provincial Museum grounds.

The thematic exhibition “Heroic Army - Glorious Tradition” features over 150 images, documents, and artifacts reflecting the military-civilian relationship in the national liberation and defense efforts. It highlights the history of the Vietnam People's Army's founding on December 22, 1944, as well as its development, growth, combat, and victories over the past 80 years. The exhibition connects these achievements with the glorious revolutionary tradition of the Communist Party of Vietnam, showcasing the significant victories in the struggle for national liberation, unification, and the defense of socialist Vietnam, while fulfilling international obligations.

Notably, artifacts, images, and documents from the armed forces of Yen Bai Province, from their establishment to the present, have been collected and preserved by the Yen Bai Provincial Museum and the Provincial Archives Center, making their debut to the public for the first time.

The exhibition is a cultural and historical event aimed at honoring and expressing gratitude to the heroes and martyrs, as well as the generations of officers and soldiers of the Vietnam People's Army who have contributed and sacrificed to achieve glorious victories, enriching the history of the nation's construction and defense.

This exhibition also serves as an opportunity to educate today’s youth about the revolutionary traditions, patriotic spirit, and indomitable heroism of their ancestors. It helps students understand, take pride in, and cherish the heroic history of the nation, nurturing their love for the country and a sense of responsibility towards it.
