Northern Yên Bái Province, which is home to more than 30 ethnic groups, accounting 57 per cent of total population of 85,000 people, has issued many support policies to eliminate hunger, reduce poverty, and raise the people’s living standards.

To implement Resolutions No.11/NQ-CP dated January 30, 2022 and No.01/NQ-CP dated January 6, 2023 of the Government, the Yen Bai industry and trade sector has carried out many activities to facilitate stable production and business activities for local enterprises.

In recent times, Yen Bai province has focused on implementing project 7 in the National Target Program for socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas in the period of 2021-2030 on people’s health care, improving the health and stature of ethnic minorities, and preventing child malnutrition.

On December 18th, at the Boarding High School of Yen Bai Province, the Korean International Cooperation Agency in Vietnam and Yen Bai Provincial People's Committee organized a ceremony to hand over the project "Supporting Equipments for some ethnic minority Boarding and Day Schools in Yen Bai Province".

On December 15th, Yen Bai Provincial Department of Industry and Trade, in collaboration with the Department of Asian-African Markets under the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Vietnamese Trade Offices in countries such as India, South Korea, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Sri Lanka, organized an online trade connection conference between Yen Bai province's businesses and foreign partners in 2023.

Within the framework of a business trip to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), after meeting with a number of partners to promote tourism for Yen Bai province, on November 24, 2023, the delegation of the People's Committee of Yen Bai province led by Ms. Vu Thi Hien Hanh, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee, paid a courtesy visit to the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to the UAE.

Within the framework of the business trip to the Kingdom of Thailand, on November 28, 2023, the delegation of Yen Bai province led by Ms. Vu Thi Hien Hanh - Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee visited and held discussions with the Embassy of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in the Kingdom of Thailand.

YBP - Currently, in Van Yen district, over 55,000 hectares of cinnamon are planted, of which the concentrated area of cinnamon is over 30,000 hectares. The area of organic cinnamon certified by European and American standards reaches over 7,000 hectares; it is estimated that by the end of 2023, the total area of organic cinnamon certified by European and American standards will reach over 15,000 hectares.

Mu Cang Chai, the "muse" of the Northwest, possesses beautiful nature and unique scenery. In addition, this place also has much potential for tourism development with clearly distinct advantages. Grasping that strength, recently Mu Cang Chai district has paid attention to developing many diverse tourism products to attract and retain tourists. From the beginning of 2023 until now, the district has launched 20 products to serve tourism.

People’s Committee of the northern province of Yen Bai on November 27 issued Decision No. 2220 on establishing PhuThinh 3 industrial cluster in Yen Binh district with an area of 75 ha.
