The processing industry of agricultural, forestry and food products has played an important role in the socio-economic development of Yen Bai province. The industrial production value of the agro-forestry-food processing sector accounts for about 43% of the total industrial production value of the province. Every year, the agro-forestry-food processing industry creates jobs for about 10,000 laborers, with an average income of VND6-8 million/month. However, in recent times, the economy of our country, including Yen Bai province, has faced many difficulties and challenges due to the global economic decline. Many large import and export markets that are partners of Vietnam are strongly affected while the legal regulations are not synchronized, some mechanisms and policies are slowly amended and supplemented, affecting the operation of enterprises, including processing enterprises of agricultural and forestry products of Yen Bai province.

At the Conference, the delegates also frankly shared difficulties and obstacles in production and business activities, factors affecting export activities. Some projects in the industrial promotion program need to be adjusted to ensure completion, the support for the development of rural industrial products has not brought into full play the potential and strengths of the locality. Industry promotion policy has been implemented for many years, but many enterprises still do not understand the mechanism and policy of industrial promotion, they are afraid to participate because it is related to administrative procedures. Access to credit capital is still difficult; lack of cinnamon material areas that meet export standards;  the labor source is unstable; ...

Leaders of relevant departments and branches received the opinions of the delegates at the conference; at the same time, solved some problems in the field of land; on support policies according to Resolution 69 of the Provincial People's Council; the development of cinnamon material areas; information on land use plans.

In order to continue promoting industrial promotion activities, removing difficulties for enterprises processing agricultural, forestry and food products in the province, in the coming time, the Department of Industry and Trade of Yen Bai province will continue to review and grasp the situation of enterprises; coordinate with departments, branches and localities to advise the Provincial People's Committee to remove difficulties and create favorable conditions for production and business for enterprises; focus on developing new markets for export products with great competitiveness, high added value or product groups with a large proportion of turnover, maintaining the traditional export market; continue branding, traceability, meet the criteria of fastidious markets such as EU, US, Japan; encourage and support businesses to effectively operate websites to promote products, brands and categories.
